The Tennessee Family Ambassadors serve as volunteers and representatives for the Tennessee Family Association and Family Experience.
Ambassadors foster communication between the campus community and current families to improve the overall quality of the Volunteer Experience.
Family Ambassadors must be a family member of a current full-time undergraduate or graduate student. Ambassadors must:
- Attend two virtual meetings, hosted in August and January
- Volunteer at two or more events per academic year, on campus at UTK, virtually, or local
Ambassadors are involved in various activities and engagement:
- Serve as ambassador and provide support to local alumni and recruitment efforts
- Providing feedback regarding their experience as Vol family members
- Volunteer with Family Experience events such as Fall Family Weekend, Spring Family Reunion, and Family Appreciation Week
- Assist in planning and implementing engagement opportunities in their local or regional areas
- Participate in webinars and panels representing the voice of Volunteer families
- Communicate with Volunteer families 1-to-1 or in small group settings
- Assist in university recruiting efforts in collaboration with the Office of Admissions (Big Orange Preview, New Vol Roll Call, etc.)
- Support campus programming and initiatives throughout the academic year
- Serve as a social media ambassador for Family Experience and campus-wide campaigns (Big Orange Give, New Vols Confirmation Day, etc.)
- Assist with the recruitment of prospective Family Ambassadors
