DIY Family Weekend

Any weekend can be a family weekend as long as you spend time with your loved ones on Rocky Top. 

  • Interactive Events Calendar: Explore the interactive events calendar which features events and activities happening on campus and in the Knoxville area. 
Let us know when you’re coming to Rocky Top! The Family Experience team would like to provide you and your family with a Vol Family swag bag for your visit.
PLEASE NOTE: Swag bags are reserved for families of students currently enrolled in University of Tennessee, not prospective or newly admitted students. Additionally, swag bags are unavailable during signature events (Fall Family Weekend, Spring Family Reunion, Family Appreciation Week, etc.) hosted by Family Experience. If you complete the form for pick-up during these events, it will not be honored.

Ijams Nature Center

If you love the outdoors Ijams Nature Center is for you. The center hosts a variety of activities from outdoor yoga to organized trips and hikes. They also provide updated trail maps and closures for your convenience.

New2Knox provides weekly updates on things happening here in Knoxville. They’ve also mapped the best spots in each Knoxville neighborhood.

Guide to Gatlinburg

Located only an hour away from Knoxville, Gatlinburg is a fun way to take a step outside the city. Gatlinburg offers outdoor adventures in the Smoky Mountains and family-friendly activities like putt-putt golf, go-karts, and more.

Visit Dollywood

Dollywood has partnered with the Division of Student Life to offer a special price on Dollywood tickets for students. Individual tickets to the theme park are $51, which is half of the price of regular tickets. This could be a great opportunity for you to connect with your student and plan a trip to Dollywood! Students can purchase discounted tickets online.
