The following is a list of questions we are most frequently asked about Fall Family Weekend, as well as responses to those questions. If you can not find the answer to your question, please contact us at family@utk.edu.
Registration
Registration for Fall Family Weekend will open in late July or early August. All active members of the Tennessee Family Association will receive registration information via their email. Families with active membership in the Tennessee Family Association can register for Fall Family Weekend. If you are not a member of the Association, you can join for free by visiting the Tennessee Family Hub.
Families are able to register to up to eight attendees (including students).
The registration fees include a meal voucher and t-shirt for each guest and a game day tote for the family filled with Volunteer Family merch. Additionally, registration fees cover the cost of guest parking passes, printed materials, refreshments at various events, and decor.
Some events and activities may require an additional cost or registration process. This will be noted on the registration and Schedule of Events.
While we hope your student will attend Fall Family Weekend events with you, they aren’t automatically included in your registration. You will need to register each individual member attending Fall Family Weekend, including your student.
Unfortunately, we are not able to take registrations over the phone. You may register online using the Tennessee Family Hub. No, there is no onsite registration.
No, we are unable to provide a waitlist for closed events. It is possible that passes/tickets to “sold out” events will become available if current registrants make changes to or cancel their registrations. When this occurs, their tickets are released and become available online in the Tennessee Family Hub.
Yes, your family is still welcome to join us on Rocky Top. There will be plenty of events and activities on campus and in the community for your family to participate in.
Additionally, you and your family are welcome to plan another weekend to visit your student on Rocky Top. Visit the Plan Your Visit page to learn more about how to find events & activities in Knoxville.
Due to the nature of processing, planning, and event coordination, Family Experience is unable to offer full refunds to Spring Family Reunion registrants at any time. If you need to cancel or modify your registration, please contact us at family@utk.edu. No, unfortunately, we don’t allow registrations to be transferred to another Volunteer family. If you need to cancel or modify your registration, please email us at family@utk.edu. The Family Experience Team will send a comprehensive email including the finalized schedule, parking information and check-in instructions one week prior to Fall Family Weekend.
Basketball Tickets
No, football tickets are not included in your registration. However, the Family Experience team works with Tennessee Athletics to provide an opportunity to purchase football tickets if you and your family would like to attend the game.
After you have completed your Fall Family Weekend registration, you will be prompted to purchase your football tickets on the UT Athletics Ticketing website. If you didn’t complete this step, please contact us at family@utk.edu. No, all seats in the Fall Family Weekend sections are reserved for families who are registered for the event.
No, you are not required to purchase tickets to the game. There are plenty of things to do in Knoxville on a Saturday! If you are not attending the game, check out some other activities and events in the Knoxville area.

All football tickets purchased as a part of Family Weekend registration will be distributed electronically. Mobile tickets will be accessed electronically through your account at allvols.com. We recommend adding your tickets to your mobile device before game day and you can visit
utsports.com for more info regarding mobile ticketing.
Events and Accommodations
The Fall Family Weekend schedule traditionally includes a Welcome & Kick-Off event, the Tennessee Family Tailgate, and Sunday Brunch at Rocky Top Dining Hall. There will be additional events from various offices and academic departments hosted throughout the weekend as well. Be sure to check out the Schedule of Events for continuous updates leading up to the weekend.
Check-in for Family Weekend will take place on Friday from 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. The Family Experience team will also provide an opportunity for families or students to complete check-in early during the week leading up to Fall Family Weekend. Additional information will be provided via email to all registered families.
We will not offer an opportunity for late check in on Saturday. We encourage you to have your student check-in on your behalf if you are unable to pick them up.
Once you have registered for Fall Family Weekend, we ask that you email the Family Experience team,
family@utk.edu, to provide the dietary accommodations needed for you and your family members or guests.
Families and guests participating in Fall Family Weekend are able to work with the UT Athletics Ticketing Office to secure accessibility seating inside of Neyland Stadium for the football game. Accessible parking is available throughout the weekend and will be shared in our communications.
Family Experience is unable to provide mobility chair reservations or guarantee shuttling and other types of mobility assistance for Fall Family Weekend. Events and activities take place in accessible locations on campus, but guests will be responsible for their transportation to the venue.
Fall Family Weekend participation will usually involve significant amounts of walking and traversing campus, especially crowded spaces on Gameday. These events may not be suitable for all guests.
Families and guests participating in Spring Family Reunion are responsible for their own lodging accommodations for the weekend. Members of the Tennessee Family Association have access to hotel discounts and can access this list in the
Tennessee Family Hub.
Parking during Fall Family Weekend is only provided on Friday and Sunday. All registered family members will receive detailed parking instructions one week prior to the start of Fall Family Weekend.
We will not provide parking accommodations on Saturday for game day. Information regarding parking for game day can be found on the Parking & Transportation website. Please plan accordingly.
